The creative learning items that I am requesting already have a place and purpose in our classroom. Students in early childhood learn through play. One of the most utilized play areas in the classroom is in the dramatic play areas. Students build their social skills of cooperative play with doll house furniture. The cash register gives them opportunities to share and take turns. The kitchen appliances give students opportunities to solve problems, make choices, pretend play and initiate play with peers. The bugs allow their curiosity and creativity to grow. Students also practice their language skills of listening and speaking, as well as increasing their vocabulary and the complexity of their conversations when engaged in dramatic play. The cash register adds additional benefits of math. The donations to this project will not only provide students with an opportunity to learn through dramatic play, but will also help them increase their developmental skills and meet age appropriate milestones. I truly need your support to provide student with the materials that are needed in an early childhood program.
