My students are passionate about learning each day. Each of them come from a different world related to most others schools. Some come hungry, tired, and unmotivated. But all give it their best everyday. They know I understand where they are coming from but I expect the best. My students need books and materials to aide them in closing the achievement gap present in our society. All I can expect from them is to show up. It has become my job and like most other educators around our nation to provide the materials they lack. These boards will make a huge impact to our daily math lessons. White boards allow for students to show off the amazing work they are producing. The get to display it not just to me but to their peers. This simple act of displaying their work can boost their self esteem and allow them to own their identities as math mathematicians.
