The West DECA chapter, a student lead marketing/business club, has been working very hard to prepare for both regional and state competition for the 2019-2020 school year. With membership numbers growing this year, we are hoping that we will have more students able to participate in the State Conference this year. DECA prepares students with important skills, such as interviewing, decision making, public speaking, researching, networking and self-confidence, that they will need in college or the workplace. Only two students were able to participate last year due to the high cost of registration, hotel, and food.. That is why this club is so important to me and to the students. With many families still struggling to get on their feet, any help we can get to send these kids to compete at the State Conference would be a blessing. My students put in a lot of time and effort and they should not be held back because they can’t afford it. We are just asking for help with lodging, so these students can represent their school and showcase their hard work and talents.
