In our district, all 5th graders have the opportunity to attend camp. The students who attend get to spend 3 nights sleeping in cabins, learning about environmental science, boat safety, hiking, knot tying, team building, and so much more! Unfortunately, the cost of camp is a barrier for many of our students' families. For many of our students, camp is the first time sleeping away from home, or spending quality time in nature. For some, this is a rare chance to sleep in their own bed, experience family-style meals, and bond with their classmates and teachers before heading off to middle school. We have so many deserving students who would love to have this experience, but whose families are simply unable to spare the funds. Through this fundraiser, 12 students will be provided with full scholarships to Camp Auburn.
