The students at my school have a deep thirst for knowledge about the world around them. They want to see some of the most important writers of both fiction and non-fiction. This classroom library selection will help them do just that. By getting exposed to writers like James Baldwin ("The First Next Time"), Ta-Nehisi Coates ("The Beautiful Struggle"), Toni Morrison ("Beloved"), and countless others, my students will truly get reading experiences that will help them become lifelong readers and learners. My students are in 12th grade and about to go off in the real world. Their curiosity about the world is nearly unlimited, and they truly will benefit from this fresh infusion into the classroom library.
