As an English teacher, I LOVE when my students want to take books home and continue reading. I DON’T love telling them “No, I don’t have enough books for you to take one home.” The books we do have are ripped, falling apart, and mostly outdated. In a diverse city like Worcester it is extremely important for the literature the students read to reflect their own experiences. There are so many diverse novels in the world today that I would love to expose them to, but I can’t do it on my salary alone! By funding this project, you will help provide books that are relevant to the interests and lives of my students (and not falling apart)!
