My students love when we read novels together! This year has been particularly tough because the books in our library are not at their reading level nor do they reflect the students in the room. The books I selected here will not only be relevant and interesting to them, but will help show them how much representation matters! The students in the classroom are mainly African American and Latin@. We do not have any class sets of books that reflect their identities. They will be so excited to read books that reflect their lives!
