The melting pot of America that you read about in books. Our city services a diverse population where students don't have much of way of technology and sports equipment. Many are refugees from around the world. We speak more than 80 languages and live in all kinds of family and housing situations. Resilient, strong, confident and determined. Our students come from various backgrounds and go on to achieve great things: from community colleges to Ivy league schools. To local business and fortune 500 companies, as well as returning to teach as I did. My students are incredibly hardworking and deserve many more resources than our school district is able to reasonably provide.
