I work with students who are hard of hearing. Although they are in middle school, they are functioning at a much lower level due to their hearing loss and language delays. Providing a wealth of reading materials will not only enhance their vocabulary and reading skills, but will instill the love of reading and learning. Instilling the love of learning in my classroom is the number one priority. We frequently write stories and make them into books. Unfortunately, we do not have a color printer to enhance our books with colored font and pictures. I end up printing their work from my home, which can get quite costly. Finally, we work hard to stay safe in the classroom by wiping down materials and desks and using hand sanitizer and wear our masks. Unfortunately, we only have a limited quantity, so it would be so nice to have more available to us.
