My students need handballs and paddles in order to further develop their locomotor skills, manipulative skills, and physical literacy. Team handball is an awesome sport which involves a lot of key elementary level skills such as, throwing and catching (scoring and passing) , chase/fee/dodge (moving to and from defenders), pathways, spatial awareness (3 step rule), locomotor skills, and balance/body awareness(ball handling). Students will be using the handballs to further their throwing, catching, passing, striking skills. These balls are safe for students at this age since they made with a soft durable material and easy to handle. This equipment can also be used for the entire k-6! Handballs can be used for various shooting games, as well as sports like soccer, basketball and football. The possibilities are endless! The paddles will be used for other physical team activities that help students to develop the skills that help to increase their overall health. Providing my students this equipment will increase on task time, lower management from lack of equipment and keep them physically engaged!
