My students come from all over the globe from countries such as Nepal, Burma, Vietnam, Indonesia, China, and Mexico. The school is located in an area that received many refugees. One of my best students is Burmese, and was actually born in a refugee camp in Indonesia! He is amazing! Although the neighborhood around the school might be considered "rough", the school acts as a beacon of hope. The students are wonderful and we as a staff try to create a strong school environment with limited resources, as well as challenges that other schools in more affluent neighborhoods might not have. We have a student council that works with teachers to organize field trips, dances, and school events.
