Scholastic's "Let's Find Out" is a nonfiction magazine created specifically for Kindergartners. It follows thematic units and provides nonfiction text that incorporates all school subjects and focuses on things such as technology, seasons, scientific method, inquiry and vocabulary. It is an interactive magazine filled with both words and pictures, that allows students to complete activities related to the theme within the pages that they read. Each student is able to take their copy of the magazine home weekly, which provides them with reading material at home that they can share with their families. This is vital considering many families of the students within my school have difficulty providing their children with learning materials at home.
