This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for my students to immerse themselves in a cuisine and culture they have learned about in their classroom kitchen lab. They will be surrounded by the people, the language, the food, the way of life, which creates an inspirational moment that can only be experienced by them. Students will engage in food related activities like a cooking class in Rome, a visit to a buffalo mozzarella farm, tour a local chocolate factory and also visit some of the oldest olive groves and do some olive oil tasting. I believe that travel to another country, outside a students comfort zone can expose them to so much more that they will ever gain in a classroom setting. Students are motivated to get jobs to pay for their trip are raising funds to pay their monthly installments and I would like to help them along the way, to make their dream a reality.
