These bookshelves will provide a house for the books of our classroom. In order to build literacy skills and become better readers, the students must read. Currently my students do not have access to a school wide library or a classroom library. The bookshelves and dictionaries will give my students access to a classroom library giving them an opportunity to read significantly aiding in their journey to become more literate and close the achievement gap. When asked what is one thing you wish our classroom had, 95 percent of my students replied, "our own library, so we can read..." The desire to read is present in my students, now we need the means. Your assistance in funding this project will help with our procurement of a classroom library!
