At the beginning of the year, I purchased a couple of wobble seats, lap desks, a bean bags and cushions. I choose to decorate the classroom in bright neon colors, and try to have a calming classroom environment. It truly seems to be helping. I have seen an amazing increase in students attention and their ability to complete work. If my project is funded it will help many more of my students and not just the few that I am helping now with the materials I purchased on my own. Students are thriving and begging to use the seating options I have now! I can not wait to have the opportunity to have more options for them! If my project is funded I will have 2 more wobble chairs, bean bag chairs, cushion chairs and ball seats which will allow another 10 students to have flexible seating.I have very high hopes for this year and the flexible seating options are just one way to help students be successful.
