A very important part of learning to read is through the shared reading of big books. The big books allow all the students to follow along with the words. We are in desperate need of some new big books. Our current books have been very loved and are now falling apart. Big books are so engaging. In first grade we build the foundation for life long readers. We need some books that students can take home and read each night. The leveled books classroom library will help the kids make sure they have books to read that are at their level. First graders love reading books.
