Kindergarten is heavily language based, with the primary emphasis focused on learning how to identify letters, letter sounds, identifying sight words and eventually beginning to learn to read. While this component of education is extremely important, we end up missing out on a large portion of science and math. The Lakeshore STEM Science and Math kits would be a wonderful addition to my classroom, because it will provide my students with opportunities for concrete, hands on learning. Each kit will provide my students with inquiry based scientific explorations, as well as the ability to increase their fine motor skills. My students can build the confidence needed for early childhood education, while allowing their creativity to take flight!
