Writers need teachers. These books serve as sermons from living writers, and my students would devour these texts--that is, if you funded us. These stories comment on social issues, teach major life lessons, develop coming-of-age themes, as well as use symbolism and metaphor to weave beautiful stories about people who have lived lives like my students. Please give my students a story to love and learn from. In this day and age, we need to connect more to the humanity in a people. These are books my students need. These are books my students want. Excellent authors = Excellent Writers.
