Flexible seating gives students the opportunity to take ownership of their learning, and choose what works best for them! During Independent Work time (such as Morning Work or Journaling), students will be able to select which type of seating they would like to use for the day. When students are able to make choices, they feel empowered! I have seen the positive impact of three wobble cushions; I cannot wait to see how all of these flexible seating items will transform our classroom! Each of the products I have selected already have a "home" within our classroom... meaning, I know exactly how we will use it! The balance balls will be used at our Writing Center, which is my favorite center to observe! The kids take great pride in their writing in Kindergarten. Wobble cushions or kneeling pads will be used at a very low table, where students create artwork to go with their writing. I am very excited to raise one of the tables, to use the stools at! The remaining tables will be equipped with chair bands, for those wiggly feet.
