Moving to a new country and navigating a new school that does not speak your mother tongue is overwhelming. Many of us have parents or grandparents who moved to this country to give us a better life. My students at the King K-8 in Dorchester are new to this country and new to the English language. My goal is to make my classroom warm and welcoming in order to lower my students' anxieties so that they can be ready for rigor. This first project focuses on providing a clean carpet, bean bags, and flags of my students' birthplaces. Please support!
