Since our school is a Title I school and many of our students come from low income families, there is a great need for basic supplies to be made available to them in the classroom and to take home. These materials will help the students feel welcome in their new Social Studies classroom. They will not be intimidated by coming into school without the much needed supplies required by the class for them to be successful this academic year. The students will use the highlighters to annotate articles and various texts that will be used in class. Furthermore, the folders will help them with the organizational skills needed in middle school to succeed. Finally, this will also help them complete various projects throughout the year, making it easier for them in the classroom and to complete projects at home.
