These materials will help my students to immerse themselves in whatever we learn, bringing their textbooks to life through art projects related to the science concepts, world cultures, and literature that we will experience this year. This is incredibly important for my students, especially English Language Learners and those working with disabilities who respond to different ways of learning! Cooperative games let students learn by building, connecting, and playing. Games like Apples to Apples Junior and Jenga also promote the types of verbal communication skills, kindness, and teamwork that are so vital to our classroom community. Supplies like the Post-it charts, makers, and tab dividers help me get students organized and fill the classroom with prompts like sentence stems, vocabulary charts, and posters for students who need written direction as well as verbal prompts. Maps are necessary for students to orient themselves and learn the key social studies and geography concepts we will explore this year.
