Students in my classroom devour books. They have a strong passion for reading. Our library is missing a fundamental for a well rounded classroom library, and that is a section filled with science books including conservation, endangered animals, alternative energy sources, coding, and technology. Students in my classroom are given time each day to explore their interests through a reading workshop. They, have the choice to choose books that interest them. Unfortunately, I currently do not have any high quality nonfiction books that will encourage students to continue to learn about science, technology, or engineering. Through this project, students will have access to high quality books, that will foster a love for science.
