Chromebooks would be a huge help to our AVID program. We have a lot of goals for our students, however, due to recent budget cuts, we are being forced to make cuts that will hamper our students from achieving their full potential. Many of our students come from low income families and many of their parents have never attended college before. AVID is all about trying to give our students opportunities to succeed in the future. Furthering their education and attending college is a big part of that. By getting Chromebooks for our students, they can apply for college in the classroom, apply for FAFSA, work on SAT prep or even just work on homework (especially for the students who do not have access to a computer at home).
