It is very important that children enjoy independent reading time. Research tells us that children learn how to read by practice. Reading is the primary way a child gains a wide vocabulary. Furthermore, success in reading is highly related to success in EVERY academic area. I cannot think of a better pass time than being absorbed and captivated with a spellbinding book. This school-year my students are excited about meeting their reading goals to meet through the Accelerated Reader program. These books will assist me in providing them with a variety of books to read and fill up our classroom library.

About my class
