Why Flexible Seating, you ask? With Flexible seating my students can feel empowered by having some choice and control in their environment. Flexible seating allows my students to choose where they work and with comfort that fits their needs. It also allows students to change their location, positions as they needed fit. With traditional desks, students can feel isolated from each other. With flexible seating, this can give my students the ability to easily pair up with peers ,work in small groups, or be in whole class discussion. Many flexible seating choices such as an exercise ball, stool, wobble seat, floor desk and/or a traditional chair with a twist, stimulate students' sense of touch. This type of stimulation can help children focus and process information. Funding this project will allows my student a choice to figure out how they learn best.
