In our science lab presently, our safety materials consist of gloves, goggles and some lab aprons. So this project would also significantly improve the status of our safety materials. With the coat racks, the lab coats will become a permanent fixture of our science lab and place where they can imagine themselves as scientists. Lab coats will empower my elementary science students to feel more like young scientists. By reflecting the what students see in adult scientists, the can more easily see themselves as scientists. Students come through my science lab and garden all day and having a coat ready for them to explore science will make all the difference.

About my class
