We will use our new soft furniture to read silently before class begins each day. This allows for student choice and independence. This daily activity fosters the love of reading and research shows reading independently leads to more advanced comprehension skills. They are already excited to receive more flexible seating in what will be called Krimm’s Cozy Corner’. When they come into the classroom, they practically run to our reading corner! Their enthusiasm is spreading to other students who maybe wouldn’t have read as much without seeing the excitement around them. All of us look forward to building up our cozy reading corner!
