If my project is funded my students will have options. We may sit on the floor in my classroom, in a hallway, or in the gym to do our work. On good weather days we may take our mats and cushions outside and complete lessons in the fresh air. Students have a hard time sitting in desks for 80 minute class periods and having mats & cushions to sit on and clipboards as a writing surface allows them more options. When students are free to sit comfortably they are more likely to concentrate on learning new material and focusing on lessons.
