My students are from varying backgrounds, of very different socioeconomic levels, creative, helpers, leaders, and workers! They enjoy taking charge and coming up with new and effective ways to solve problems. Although we are a brand new public Montessori school (only two years old), the students already understand the importance of celebrating diversity (not just tolerating diversity), as well as promoting peace around our world, beginning with our classroom environment. My goal is to support the children in these vital endeavors by incorporating these themes throughout our curriculum. We are also working hard to set systems in place that will reinforce the students' leadership roles amongst their peers, our school, and our community overall. This is only our third day of school and I can already see emerging the depth of their abilities, their level of independence and responsibility, as well as excitement for learning. I wish to inspire these traits in each of them.
