My students need access to a computer and Microsoft Office that they can use to complete projects and assignments. They need a computer to help create technology learning stations that are designed to promote academic success and achievement while allowing students to work at their own level and pacing. This computer will help with organization as well as the facilitation of learning through technology. Computer science is required for all students in our district, and I want to provide them with the opportunity to be successful as well as compete academically with other students in our district. The computer will help with the creation of more STEM projects and allow the students to have more interaction with coding. Once the projects or activities are done, this same computer will afford the students the opportunity to type essays about their projects and coding experiences. Students will be able to use the paper to print their essays. Since many of my students only have access to computers at school, there is little chance that they can practice typing or work on anything technology related at home. This typing experience that the laptops will provide can only help improve my students' typing fluency, which is needed for our Subject Area State Assessment Program.
