For my students, school is a safe refuge from whatever waits for them outside these walls. For some of them, it might be gang involvement, while others have younger siblings in need of supervision, still others have parents who are working multiple shifts to simply put food on the table. All of these students have one thing in common: they come to school because it provides a steady, reliable, and safe place to pass the day. Whether or not they are truly "meeting or exceeding a standard" is not on their radar, because of the various other things on their minds. It is my hope, with this project, I can continue to provide a steady and reliable place of learning that they've come to expect, where I can put forth my best effort as their teacher. I know with access to quality supplies, they will be better able to achieve great successes.
