Many of my students come to me with a reluctance to read. The world many of them live in is saturated with technology and media, and the reliable, old paper book has gone by the wayside. Many of my students have never finished a book completely on their own and find reading to be a laborious and tedious task. With these high impact young adult novels, students can have the chance to fall in love with reading and storytelling. Great books will give my students the chance to explore a life and a world outside of their own. They will have the chance to strengthen their core skills as a reader and begin their life-long journey as a reader.
