My students need access to items that can allow them to fulfill their sensory needs in order for them to be more successful and mentally healthy. Some of my students need to feel pressure to help calm them and feel balance. The weighted blanket will allow a student to feel pressure for a specified amount of time. The weighted lap pads can allow my students to sit and work in class and still have their pressure needs met. Not only students with special needs can benefit from sensory items. Anyone who feels they need to can utilize the sensory items. Items such as a fidget can be utilized under a desk, discreetly, so a student can alleviate stress or anxiety while still staying in the classroom and not missing time. My goal is to continue to build the sensory items for my sensory room in order keep helping my students.
