Our school holds a unique position in Milwaukee Public Schools as the only school with a science lab program created specifically for young scholars. Kids as young as three have opportunities to engage in high-quality science instruction in both their classrooms, as well as in a science lab, twice a week. It’s crucial that students have notebooks to keep track of their discoveries. Students maintain their notebooks for the entire year, and then they become artifacts of all of their learning. Each of my approximately 200 students fills up one (and sometimes two!) notebooks per year. Accordingly, we always need lots of notebooks!
