My students need a class subscription for Scholastic News. This magazine connects current events to the fourth grade curriculum and beyond while helping students practice their reading skills. These magazines will enhance our learning experience by giving us interesting resources to get students excited about learning. I want to foster my students' love for reading. As well as fostering a love for reading, the exposure to these articles and discussions that follow will prepare students for the expository texts they might encounter on the state exams in the spring by providing an opportunity for them to reinforce their vocabulary and comprehension skills. Scholastic News and will help keep students excited about reading nonfiction articles as well as keep them up to date with current events.
