If my students had access to more technology, it would improve their learning in many ways. They could use the technology to research people we are reading about. They could create multimedia presentations to display their new knowledge in an interactive and engaging way. They could also learn more about themes we are learning about in science and social studies. For example, we are currently learning about the solar system, and our social studies books are very dated. The textbooks we use still lists Pluto as a planet. If my students had access to the iPad I am requesting, they could access the most recent research and information regarding the planets and the solar system. My students would gain new knowledge with the technology, and this form of learning will prepare them for the technological world we live in today. If this project is funded, my students will have access to technology that will prepare them for the real world. They will learn how to type in a word document, how to do effect research, and how to present the knowledge learned through a multimedia presentation. This will allow my students the opportunity to acquire the skills necessary for their futures.
