Eldorado Magnet is a relatively new magnet program-within-a-school inside a well-established high school. As the magnet coordinator, I'm responsible for overseeing the success of 400 students from 9-12 grade. I help them apply to college, earn college credits, arrange guest speakers, plan field trips, and more. This year we started holding "Magnet Mondays" for all magnet students to participate in to build relationships with each other, participate in low-stress, engaging activities, practice social skills, learn workplace readiness skills, etc. Our students need extra assistance developing these skills so they can finish school and transition seamlessly to college and/or career.
