My high school students are all English Language Learners that have immigrated to the U.S., specifically Queens, New York, within the last four years. They come from China, Latin America, Southeast Asia, The Middle East, Korea, etc. They are extremely courageous, and they have, for the most part, many dreams they want to fulfill here through education. Unfortunately many students lack the resources they need to come prepared to class everyday. The teachers at my school work hard to secure these resources to ensure a successful high school experience that paves the way to college and beyond.
