I have done alternative seating in my classroom for the last 3 years. Unfortunately, many of my seating options have met their match with my kids and are no longer usable and/or extremely worn. I have asked for two new Gaiam Kids Stay-N-Play Children's Balance Ball to replace my old ones, which help my students bounce and stay active in place, while also focusing on the lesson. I also asked for a few new types of seating such as portable laptop desks and reading pillows to replace my worn out pillows and scoop chairs. All of my students, particularly my special education students, really benefit from these choices in various types of seating! I want to be able to provide them with as many options as I can because I have found over the years that different types of children, benefit from different types of seating and every year their opinions change! I want to do whatever I can to help my students succeed!
