This projects is designed especially for our second grader students who like to read, write, play, sing, learn, imagine, and create! They are in need of a creative, innovative, real-life authentic purpose, and reason for writing. This Pen Pal Program "You have Got Mail" will offer a number of significant inter-disciplinary benefits for students, including valuable practice at writing letters in the proper format which is a language arts standards skill, increased awareness of societies, cultures, communities, etc. This project will contribute to the lost art of traditional letter writing - and help with the bad habit of abbreviated computer-slang. They will learn the five parts of a letter.
