Alto and tenor records are an essential addition to any school's elementary music program. Students will refine their instrument playing skills, and learn new techniques for learning multiple instruments of similar construction and style. Alto recorders are larger and are keyed in F, so students will learn about transposition, for example. Tenor recorders are larger still and have mechanical keys, much like clarinets, flutes, oboes, saxophones and other wind instruments. In addition, the alto and tenor recorders will open up a brand new world of music making in music class with their unique timbre and deeper pitch, together with the soprano recorders we all know so well.
