Our students are exceptional in the fact that they are humble, respectful, and giving. The majority of them are of Hispanic descent, and reside in an urban environment that at times poses risks if students are left to wander the streets. The term at-risk youth is overly used these days, but that term accurately reflects the situations of these students. The parents, students, and teachers have all made the choice to actively try to make a difference in the stigma that at-risk youths don't attend college, by ensuring that these students are college bound. These students deserve this opportunity to be able to engage in healthy play, in order to strengthen a healthy school community.
