Sitting in one space for too long is difficult for even the most focused adult. Eight year olds love to move and wiggle their bodies as they learn. Flexible seating, like the Safco Alpha Better Standing desk, allows the students to productively move while staying on task. The more options they have, the better opportunity for focus. The addition of clipboards, stools, and floor seats will allow them more ownership in the classroom. My hope with this project is provide choices for my students as we grow together. Students will have access to traditional seating choices, as well as flexible seats.
