The new machines made today are safe, quick to make projects and easy to use. This will get the students excited when they see what can be made with it. We have are large lathe that was here when they first built the school in 1963 but it has no safety features left and is not trustworthy. We have a local cabinet shop that has donated hundreds of hardwood pieces that we will be able to use for all the students to make at least 2 projects each on the lathe. Most projects that will be made on the lathe will take one period to make and thus enable all the students to get a chance to use it.
