Flexible seating gives students the opportunity to take charge of their learning by choosing a spot in the classroom where they are capable of doing their best. Wobble stools and cushions, as well as comfy floor chairs will offer more choices and opportunities for students who may not learn best when sitting in a chair or crisscrossed on the floor. I have noticed that students are more engaged and less likely to get distracted when they are given a choice for where they may work. The materials I am requesting will give the students more choices and a wider variety of options. I have found that flexible seating has a positive impact on student learning and engagement in the classroom. I am hopeful that these additional choices will help my first graders become even more successful in school!
