Our students benefit from a classroom environment that caters to their diverse, individual needs. Wobble stools and a stand up desk provide students with options for seating, noise canceling headphones meet the sensory needs of many of our students, speed cubes serve as a much needed fidget, an easel provides students with visual cues, while kitchen timers help make time more concrete. As a longtime general educator working in an inclusive setting, I've seen the value of these resources firsthand. However, in my new role as a special educator, I lack these valuable tools. I'm hoping to provide my students with these resources on their first day of school in September through this project.
