Performing arts is currently at a crossroads in terms of the technical aspects. My school is well behind in its current light equipment and my students work way to hard to not be able to be seen on stage.
The students in my class and school productions will benefit greatly from the use of a newer cluster of lighting equipment. My student will be able to act and perform with tools that are more current in the process industry, preparing them for the post-graduation performing arts world. It would also make their time as students at the school all the better, allowing us light their performances in a way that was costing us rental fees in the past.
With a quality lighting upgrade, not only my students, but any student group who uses the auditorium, can get a positive interaction with the theatre. This project not only effects the students that I interact with on a day to day basis, but all students in the student body. From chorus, band, and orchestra concerts to musicals and plays this project can really push our performing arts programs to a new level.
