It is my vision to start up a new reading club at our school that will engage all students in reading for enjoyment. All students in first grade through fifth grade will be invited to join this new club. The purpose of the club is to give students the opportunity to read books of their choice in the mornings, before the start of the school day. I want to create a comfortable and inviting environment that is rich with a variety of literature for our students to enjoy. To do this, I am looking for a quality selection of children's books that meet all reading levels. In addition to books, I want students to be able to cozy up to a book in a comfortable space, so I am asking for rugs, bean bags, pillows, and other items to help create an inviting place to read. Reading is one of the most important skills that a child can learn. The more we read, the better readers we become. My hope is that this new club will build the love of reading in our school, that will carry on with our students throughout their lives.
