Our library has a great circulation of books. However, the new Sunshine State Young Readers Award books are always in high demand. A classroom set of Sunshine State Young Readers Award books will enable my students to have access to these books immediately. Students love to read Sunshine State Young Readers books and become involved in the book club while they read these books. Students are challenged to read all fifteen of the of the books and get an 80% or better on the AR test. Students also receive rewards for throughout the year for reading the books. Five books= pizza, ten books=ice cream sundae, and if they read all fifteen books, they are rewarded with free Chick-Fil-A at the end of the year. My goal is to have half or more of my students read all fifteen books.
